Ask People to Increase Their Giving

August 01, 2015 Charles Lane

As I work with congregations in their stewardship ministry, I'm always surprised how few annually ask members and friends of the congregation to increase their giving.  Most people won't increase giving if you don't ask them to.  My experience is that somewhere between 30 and 40% will increase in any given year with a direct, respectful request to do so.  Obviously, over the course of several years, this can make a huge difference in the funds available for the congregation's ministry.

"Because of God's Great Mercy" provides this direct, respectful request, along with a simple way for people to calculate an increase of 1/2 of 1% of household income.  In two simple steps, anyone with any income can figure out what this increase would mean for them.

Thanks for considering "Because of God's Great Mercy" for your congregation's stewardship program.
